Workers are often promoted or work their way up to supervisors throught knowledge, experience, or a number of years on the job. They are often not informed of their safety roles and could be held criminally responsibile for any safety incidents that occur under their direct supervision or in t heir department.
Supervisors are considered an extension of the employer/management. They have the most control over the day-to-day operations of the company. Supervisors are responsible for the health and safety of every employee working under his or her supervision. They are also required to advise a worker under his or her supevision of all known or reasonably foreseeable risks to safety and health in the area where the worker is performing work.
This course covers legislation, responsibilities, incident costs, the Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety Act & Regulation, hazard recognition, risk assessments, job hazard analysis', safe work procedures, reporting, investigating, training, and documentation. With this course, everyone will receive a certification in Supervisor/Manager Basic Safety Skills.
