Building Your Safety & Health Program

A health and safety program is a definite plan of action designed to prevent accidents and occupational diseases. A written Health and Safety Program is required under the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act W210, for provincially regulated employers with 20 or workers who are regularly employed.

Having an effective Health and Safety Program not only meets legal requirements, but demonstrates commitment to leadership, sets out clear responsibilities within your organization, and can dramatically reduce costs from; (harm to people, damage to property, insurance costs, fines & legal costs, lost production, re-training and replacement costs). Effective programs are proven to increase employee morale, therefore increases production and productivity in all areas. This workshop will summarize the 11 basic elements that must be included in a program, and discuss ways to communicate your program effectively throughout your organization.

Participants will receive a complimentary copy of the WSH Act W210, plus a resource guide to assist you on building your program.

This course is geared towards Owners, Managers, Committee Members, Safety Representatives, or anybody that holds an interest, or has a responsibility in the development of a Workplace Health and Safety Program.
